Creative Challenges - Make Your Own Rules

Working on a creative project could be like running for a bus. It really depends on how much your able to "push" yourself and how much you are able to give for the specific goal. While you are planning your goals, you have to make some rules you must follow during the journey. This is very important if you want to archieve your goals very fast and easy as possible.  Decide on your own version of the rules before you start – if you miss a day of a monthly challenge, can you forgive yourself? Do you have to make it up? Do you quit?

Here are some of our advices that might help you

Revise your rules as you go along
These challenges are meant to help you foster creativity, not become a chore. If, half way through, you realize it’s not working, or you’ve already got what you need, you can change your rules or drop out. If you need to be more strict, make more strict rules.

Review and adjust
Are you making progress? If yes, see the next step. If not, why not? Are there any small adjustments you need to make?

Make a Commitment
Some people spend 90% of their time organizing their time. Some tackle to-do lists peppered with insignificance that stretch a mile long. And still, there are others who refuse to do anything at all.

What is not started today is never finished tomorrow
Exactly, encourage yourself! Do all the things you want to achieve. All the tips in the world won’t make as productive as you could be if you simply started to get things done right now. Don’t waste another minute!

Make it a priority
Most of these challenges take commitment for a small amount of time. Make the most of the challenge by making it a priority. You might have to drop something else during the challenge.

Make it specific
When you know what you want is a lot more easier to make it happen. Write all the ideas on your mind. Use some sketchbook, draw it if needed, or describe the potential reasons for that goal. It's easier to plan for and master a specific goal than a vague one. Make it specific by defining what you want to achieve.

Break it down
Making any change takes self-discipline. You need to pay constant attention so you don't get sidetracked. One way to make this easier is to break a big goal into small steps.  Reaching frequent, smaller goals is something to celebrate. It gives you the confidence, courage, and motivation to keep running - or doing whatever it is you're aiming to do. So reward yourself.

Stay on Course
Once you've decided on your first set of goals, keep the process going by reviewing and updating your To-Do List on a daily basis. Periodically review the longer term plans, and modify them to reflect your changing priorities and experience.
