Why to Stay Humble?

Artists, musicians, painters etc all those people live in their art world and enjoy their creative journey. Some are well know for their style, some became role models, some are on the magazine covers, some are doing tv shows etc etc. This modern world give us the chance to promote our art in the best way. Get noticed is very easy these days. You can even get noticed on the social networks by making your own online profiles and then getting more targeted audience.

When we have all this options, there is good and bad in the whole process. The good news are, we finally get noticed and someone appreciate and love our work. The negative aspect is that some people get over obsessed with their egos, some are trying to be too exposed, pussy and some become even boring with their over-rated abilities.

So, what we should remember? Is staying humble a good thing, something that will help us to became more respected and loved for all we do?

To stay humble means to be honest with yourself. To be self critized and to be honest with the people around you. During your art journey you will find yourself beaten down by some negative comments, negative reviews etc. Sometimes, even you can get a bunch of compliments by the people who will really respect and love your art.

If you get too exposed, you will be probably interviewed about your art and asked about the meanings of your paintings, your style... Some people will judge, some will be amazed. Different people, different opinions.

When you expose your art, it means you expose yourself as well.
Don't get over frustrated or over flattered about the comments you will read.

People will like your attitude - If you stay humble, people will like the way you behave, the way you describe your art. When something new is coming on the way (exhibition or mag issue) try to be honest as possible. People like to see artists who are able to bring their world closer to the viewers.

You will probably get more supporters
That's right! The more you become honest and friendly to the people the more they will like you.

Humility can help you be more content with your life, and it can also help you endure bad times and improve your relationships with others. It's also essential to being an effective learner. If you think you know it all, you won't be open-minded enough to seek out new knowledge. Humility is also, somewhat counter-intuitively, an excellent tool for self-development in general. After all, if you feel superior, you have no incentive to improve. Most of all, being humble allows you to be honest with yourself.
